Reno Season Opener!
We loaded up Friday morning and began the 5 hour trip to Reno.
Practice went well. The track was typical Reno, fast with some good flow. Friday night I raced and after getting crazy in the first corner with Nic Long I ended off with a 3rd. So a good start to the weekend.
Saturday we got to sleep in for a bit. Got some grub and headed to practice. Saurday started off well getting a 2nd.3rd and a crash in the 3rd round after getting caught up in the first turn. I still made the 1/4s. I blew my gate in the 1/4 and packed it up for AA for Saturday. In Pro cruiser, I had a solid race and finished 3rd on the box for day 1. After that we headed back to the hotel got some food and got ready for bed.
5:30 wake up call on Sunday followed by some good breakfast and we were off to the track. I was determined to have a better day. In Moto's i went 1st,1st,3rd. In the 1/4s i took first, and in the semi took 4th.
I was really pleased to make the main event. I had a really good gate from 8 but the first corner was tight.. ended off 6th in AA/Elite Men Sunday and another 3rd place in Pro Cruiser!
Overall a decent weekend with some UCI points collected! Next stop is Guthrie Oklahoma in 2 weeks!

2010 ABA Grands
Flew out the day before Thanksgiving. Got the upgrade for first class so I was hoping that was a sign of good things to come! Flights were delayed in Minneapolis for a few hours so I was late getting into Tulsa. Landed just after midnight and after waiting for about 45mins for my bags to come through I finally got them and headed back to the hotel for some much needed sleep.
Woke up Thursday morning and headed to scope it out. Track this year had a good sprint on the first straight with a pro section/ berm jump on the 2nd straight and 3rd straight rhythm/ decision maker. Practice went well on Thursday. Felt good down the first straight, was a little worried about the pro section to begin with after watching some people kill them self on it. Got it all dialed in and felt confident for Friday's racing.
Woke up and headed to the track Friday for the qualification rounds of racing for the pro spectacular that evening. I decided to race A pro Friday night to try get the remaining $300 I needed to officially turn AA. Got 2,1,1 in motos and won the 1/4. That was it for the days racing and got some chill time in before the semi and mains that evening at the pro spectacular.
Pro spectacular is probably one of the best races of the year in my opinion. Everyone comes and watches and its just got a all round good vibe. I won my semi and had first lane choice in the main. I chose gate 6. Had a late gate but tried to make up for it on the first straight. Banged some bars going into turn 1 but came out with the holeshot. Wasn’t the smoothest lap I could ask for but led it until the last corner where Thomas Fernandez made an awesome move to end up on top of the box winning the race, and I ended up with 2nd and the hole shot award. That gave me the money to officially turn AA.
After being loaded up on Jack3d for some energy, I had a hard time falling asleep. Ended up getting a few hours of rest before getting up at 6am for some breakfast and got ready for warm up at the track. Motos were stack as expected for AA. I felt good and was ready for the weekends race. We only raced 2 rounds of motos on Saturday due to there being about 520 something motos. In AA I got a 5th first round and 1st 2nd round. Pro cruiser I got a 4th and 1st. That wrapped it up for day 2 of the grands. Headed back to the hotel for a much needed dinner.
Sunday rolled around and felt really tired. Got to the track and sauced up on some jack3d, for some energy before 3rd round. Had a late gate and ended up with another 5th. made it out of motos and into the 1/4. Finished 2nd in 3rd round of pro cruiser, which went straight to a main so that was it until it was time for the main.
1/4 were really stacked.. I had high points giving me 2nd last gate pick. picked the outside incase of a late gate there would be no1 next to me. I did in fact have a late gate but made up for it. In turn 1 not sure if someone forgot how to ride but cause havoc crashing by them self, luckily I survived and made it out the corner in 5th. Made a move into turn 2 and held off for a 4th and made it into the semi.
It was 6 man semis and I had last lane choice next to Kyle Bennett. Had a solid gate and first straight but got put up in the first corner and was in 5th again going down 2nd straight. Really wanted to make the main and took a chance and tried to pass KB in turn 2 and it payed off. I took the 4th in the semi. I was so pumped to make the main at the grands. To me it was the most important race of the year, so to make the main was huge for me.
For the grands they ran the traditional 3 main events. First main even I snapped my chain out the gate, 2nd main I got 6th after having a really good first straight. and last main just had a late gate and ended up 7th.
Pro cruiser main event was up next. It was going to be interesting who ever won between Barry Nobles and Danny C got the title. I was lucky enough to be in gate 2 between the both of them. I had a super good gate spun a little on the first jump almost getting the hole shot into turn 1. Barry slid on by and took first while I got the 2nd overall.
All in all it has been my best season to date. A rough beginning of the year with some issues but worked them out and everything got better! A Huge thanks goes to my Coach Jonnathan Chislett. My parents for always being there and all my sponsors Morphine, Alienation,Fly, Enduro Bearings, and all my friends!
Thanks again!

Boulder City/Orlando UCI
Sunday was a better day.. I made the main in AA and had gate 8 again.. so Im 4/5 gate 8s in the main. ended up 8th and 2nd behind Barry in cruiser this time Barry pulled the crowd pleaser off without a hitch..
All in all a solid weekend.. AA was super stacked so I was happy with the weekend!
Orlando,Florida
Flew in to Atlanta a few days before and settled in. We made our way down to Orlando. Track was as smooth as glass and about a 1/4 mile shorter than the old track when it was NBL. It was a 3day race so it was for sure going to be a blow out weekend.
Overall weekend wasn't the best but couldnt expect much with training so I took it how it came. Raced A pro Sunday to try get alittle closer to the $3000. Made the main and smashed the gate pretty hard. Had to chase Jordan "The Flash" Seward down around the track. Big ups 2 him he was going fast all weekend. Ended up with the win on Sunday so I was happy with that..

Chula Vista SX/National
TT
My first lap I had a decent one. I was a bit cautious around not really attacking everything like I should of. So I headed to the 2nd round of TT's. Had a poor lap 2nd round and didn't make it through.. I was bummed out but that's racing.
All was not lost. They had the ABA national the same weekend on the other track, I am still eligible to ride A pro as I have not made all my money to turn AA. I race AA at all the UCI races for South Africa so that makes me still able to ride A pro.
The track is really fun and smooth with a blistering fast gate so I was feeling good. T-Hoff (Tony Hoffman) was there looking to try get his $$$ to turn AA so I knew he was going to be on a mission riding fast as well as the local guy Tommy Vallejo. Day 1 went really good, won all the motos and semi and made it to the main event. Ended up getting the win for day 1.
Watched the SX race on Saturday night.. Probably one of the sickest races I've seen in my life with 5 out of 8 guys leading the lap at one point.. Nic Long ended up taking the win wire 2 wire.
Saturday night was a late one.. ended up with a couple hours of sleep and made my was bright and early to the track.. felt good after taking 10 hours of energy and won all my laps. Main event came around got the holeshot. T-Hoff rode an awesome lap and ended up taking the win and making the $$$ for AA.
Took a slow drive back home Monday on the Solo mission again.
Over all Solid weekend of riding and hanging out with friends!

Training had been solid up to it.. track was the usual U inside a U. Raced Friday night got a 2nd behind Nic Long.. Saturday and Sunday were both UCI days. Saturday started out with a good first moto with a win. Made it out to the semi's. Had a rusty 3rd round leaving me with last lane pick so grabbed gate 8.. Had a solid race and made it to the main for day 1.. had outside again in the main and ended up 6th for day1 and 3rd in Pro cruiser.
Sunday started off bright and early.. made my way through motos and into the semi again in lane 8. Made it to the main even again and ended up 7th. Pro Cruiser another 3rd. Was really happy with the weekend.. AA pro over here is so stacked so really happy with the outcome. Next stop Chula Vista SX/ABA national.

UCI Worlds/Prunedale NBL National

UCI Worlds
Worlds this year was back in my home country. It was about 5 hours away from where I used to live.. so quite close. I flew with my GLUBBEco team rider Ian Anderson. He has been racing bmx for a year now and has really come up alot, this was his first race out of the country.
The track was really awesome. It was amazing too see basically 2 tracks within eachother. First practice day came around and hit the track in full force..(literally) Practice was going alright until i tried 2 sneak a pedal inbetween the 2nd and 3rd pro jump and gee'd my body out and dead sailored and ate it pretty good. Got up did some bike fixing up and hit the track again. After the first days practice got the track somewhat dialed in.
Day 2 practice was a whole lot better.. felt more comfortable riding and was smooth around the track.
Time trials and racing for us was on the same day. I felt confident on the track and it was go time for the time trials. My first lap in got decent but there was still room for improvement. I finished 35th just missing the top 32 cut for round 1. Round 2 was way better and finished 3rd. I checked my 2nd run compared 2 my first run and I would of qualified 19th with the 2nd run's time.
Racing didnt go down all that well. couldnt get a gate so didnt make it out of motos.
Cruiser day was alot better. Kind of a joke with no one besides a handfull of fast guys showed up. Felt alot better made it into the semi and blew the gate.
So to sum up worlds not anything 2 remember lol.
Came back home and too a few weeks of to refuel physically and mentally.
Prunedale was 2 weeks ago. It was in my break but I raced it anyways since its my local track. there was 7 AAs so we did 3 motos for lane choice and then main. I had a decent gate in the main was in 4th going down the last straight and took a digger and rung my bell pretty good.
Day 2 started off good same deal as day 1. 3 motos for lane choice and then main. Had a bad gate but was in 4th. Made a move for 3rd. Photo finish with Afro BoB. pretty sure I got it but they went with the finish line scorer. So day 2 was 4th.
I did the Friday Pro clinic and what a great turn out of kids we had! All of them were super cool and learned alot! So big shout out 2 all the guys that came out and did the clinic.
I'll attach my time trial video and a few pics!
Next stop Reno next weeekend for the next UCI Round. Check back then for an update!
